ADMISSION CONDITIONS

No age limit
Secondary 5 and 1 year above on the date of entry (Quebec system)

Other countries: Secondary 5 equivalency diploma, e.g. Baccalauréat toutes séries for French candidates at the start of the school year, or Grade 12 for Ontario candidates.

Admission to the school by entrance exam

*The fee for students eligible for Aide Financière aux Études (AFE).

Tuition fees are payable in two instalments, the first in September and the second in January.

The admission fee is $200.

WHAT ARE THE IMMIGRATION STAGES?

Step 1
If you've passed your entrance exam, you'll receive your acceptance letter from the school. You're ready to start your immigration process!
Step 2
Your first step with immigration will be to apply for a CAQ (Certificat d'acceptation du Québec) via the MIFI website.

Bring the following documents with you:

Your letter of admission
Proof of financial capacity
Your valid passport (make sure it's valid for the duration of your studies)
Expect a fee of approximately $124 to pay for your application.
Step 3
Once you have your CAQ, you can apply for your Study Permit online via the IRCC website. This is the document that will allow you to enter Canada.

Please bring the following documents with you:
Your admission letter
Proof of financial capacity
Your valid passport (make sure it's valid for the duration of your studies)
Allow a fee of approximately $150 to pay for your application.

Once you've submitted your Study Permit application online, you'll be asked to collect your biometric data (fingerprints and photograph approved by Canadian government institutions).
Step 4
Once your immigration formalities have been validated, you can prepare for your departure:

Find your accommodation
Take out health insurance (RAMQ and/or private insurance)
Open a bank account (e.g. Desjardins)
Obtain your SIN (Social Insurance Number)
Step 5
If you passed your admissions exam, you will receive your acceptance letter from the school.

You are ready to start your immigration process!

WHERE TO STAY?

Most Montrealers use platforms such as Kijiji.ca, Craiglist or Facebook groups to search for housing,

However, it’s not uncommon for us to put our future students in touch with each other so that they can exchange ideas and look for future roommates.

There is also the option of private student residences: La Marq, Evo Montréal, etc.

WHAT'S YOUR BUDGET?

Housing prices are very affordable compared with those in European metropolises ($600 to $1300, depending on the unit and neighborhood).

Electricity, gas, heating and Internet are at the tenant’s expense. Some utilities are included in the rent.

 Please note that there are additional costs to consider when moving in, such as :

– Full winter outfit: approx. 500 $CAD

– Plane ticket to visit family!
