Are you still hesitating between Animation and Video Games? Your drawing skills are not yet perfect? The preparatory year is made for you!
The preparatory year in Digital Arts is an intensive 7-month training program that aims to discover the professions of animation and video games. It will allow you to acquire a traditional artistic training and to develop technical skills specific to Digital Arts.
It also aims to bring its students up to speed, create a portfolio, a personal project and prepare for competitive exams.

Training details
There are two main areas of instruction in your preparatory year:
Drawing and traditional artistic practices: Drawing a Character, introduction to sculpture and live models, introduction to animation etc…
The discovery and initiation to the mastery of technical and creative software: Introduction to Adobe Suite, programming, introduction to Unity, discovering the board game and
3D graphics etc…
As well as the accompaniment on the creation of a personal project, of your portfolio and preparation for competitions.
During your course, you will also complete two team projects : a 2D platform game and a board game.
At the end of your training, you will be able to choose the training that suits you best

Admission requirements
You are passionate, you have artistic creations and you wish to learn the fundamentals of animation and video games, the preparatory year is the training that suits you.
To enter this program, you need a high school diploma if you are from Quebec and a bachelor’s degree or equivalent if you are an international candidate.
To enter, you will have to pass an entrance exam consisting of a general culture test and a test specialized in animation and video games, a drawing test, an imagination test, a mathematics and logic test and an oral interview.
